  • Shermica Farquhar, Founder and Chief Growth Advisor, has been consulting individuals and organizations for over a decade as a trusted team member and hired external consultant. She is passionate about solving problems and helping others. Realizing her diverse professional experience has created immediate impact on her new clients. She looks forward to building with you and your team! Known for her energetic and holistic approach to organization optimization, her work experience spans the Media, Education, Consumer Goods, Non-Profit and Public sectors. Most recently, Shermica served as the Director of Operations for New Regions for Rocketship Education, where she led their regional expansion. She has designed and executed record breaking organizational outreach programs for both Teach for America and Entertainment Weekly. While in Accenture’s Talent and Organization Practice, Shermica designed and delivered Change Management and Organization Design Strategies. She is also an adept trainer, having designed and delivered training for Fortune 500 companies and multi-billion dollar foundations.

    As a participant of some of the nation’s most prestigious pipeline programs INROADS, Management Leadership for Tomorrow, and the Broad Residency; Shermica brings a wealth of knowledge in structured coaching and vast network to her individual clients.

    Shermica will has joined the faculty at American University’s Kogod School of Business, Management Department, where she looks forward to impacting the way students approach and capitalize on business opportunities. She holds an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business with a focus on Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management, and Managerial & Organizational Behavior, and a B.S. in Business Administration with concentrations in International Business and Marketing from Georgetown University. Shermica is based in Washington, DC, where she enjoys travel to explore new places and live like the locals.

  • Nathan Alexander brings an educational expertise to the Solutions By SF network. He has been providing consulting services to education organizations for over  a decade. Nathan’s  experience spans mathematics and science education, social justice, and quantitative literacy. He is passionate about helping smaller, community-based organizations by providing research, professional development, and services to support their strategic goals. Nathan was a visiting lecturer of education and mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley while obtaining his doctoral degree. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of San Francisco, School of Education.

    Nathan completed his Ph.D. at Columbia University and holds a M.A. from New York University,  a M.S. from Teachers College, Columbia University and B.S. in Mathematics and Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

  • Kofi Ampadu brings operations strategy expertise to the Solutions By SF network, having worked across the consumer goods, retail, energy and pharmaceuticals industries. He has years of experience improving and adding value to organizations such as Kraft Foods, and L’Oreal. During his tenure with Accenture, Kofi advised Fortune 100 clients with strategic development and execution, post-merger integration, and productivity management. He is the co-founder of H2Melon, a health and wellness beverage start-up.

    Kofi earned his MBA from Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business, and a B.S. in Packaging Science from Rochester Institute of Technology

    Lauren Cole is a passionate Human Resources expert with over 10 years of diverse experience in the strategy, implementation and execution of programs in support of organizational HR imperatives. Her specialties include Workforce Planning, Policy Development, Talent Acquisition, and Compensation and Benefit design. Additionally, Lauren has been recognized for ability to negotiate employee and employer objectives to resolve multi-faceted issues.  Lauren specializes in talent solutions tailored to the needs of federal agencies, specifically the Department of Defense, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, U.S Department of State and United States Agency for International Development.

    Lauren holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business.

     

  • Kristin Jackson brings a passion for marketing, operations, and entrepreneurship to the Solutions By SF network. She works with clients to develop creative business solutions using design thinking and lean startup methodologies. Combining analytical and strategic rigor, Kristin has developed marketing campaigns, business development plans, and management solutions for companies across various industries. Kristin spent seven years at McMaster Carr where she managed hundreds of employees and dozens of projects including warehouse expansions, organizational restructuring, and annual budgeting and planning.  She’s developed and led diversity and inclusion initiatives, which proved integral to the company’s ability to attract and retain talent.

    Originally from Great Falls, Virginia, Kristin now resides in the Washington, DC area.  Kristin holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, and a B.A. in Political Science from Duke University, where she was a Reginaldo Howard Scholar.

For over 13 years, Seema worked across a variety of industries Accenture’s Talent & Organization practice. Her project experiences are broad and include change strategy and management, culture assessment, leadership alignment, organization design, and workforce transitions. 

    Seema has a  M.A. in Developmental Psychology from Columbia University’s Teachers College and her B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from Cornell University’s College of Human Ecology.

  • Robert E. Smith, Ph.D. is a solutions-focused human resources and talent expert with over twelve years of experience designing and leading workforce transformations. He specializes in leadership succession and top team effectiveness, organizational design, HR and talent strategy, culture change, and large-scale transformation. He advises top managers of some of the world’s leading companies and public institutions including Polo Ralph Lauren, PepsiCo, Inc. and the Social Security Administration on their most pressing organizational issues to build leadership capabilities that drive innovation and growth.

    He has authored/co-authored several articles on the topic of workforce transformation insights including the role of leadership during difficult organizational changes and trends that will influence the global workforce over the next 10-15 years. Robert is a certified Project Management Professional and holds a B.A. in Psychology and Cultural Studies from The Ohio State University, a M.A. in Human Resources & Labor Studies from the Carlson School of Management and a Ph.D. in Human Resource Development both from the University of Minnesota
